Introduce your business and what you do there. I’m the CEO of Marketbox, which is a trading platform. It’s a channel where retailers can sell their products on several marketplaces and manage them from one place.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with UFO Engineering? We didn’t have a development team to work on our trading platform.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement? They developed the architectural database, the first version of the frontend of the system, a landing page, and a CRM. They helped us to choose the right framework which was Laravel and advised us on choosing the proper database and technologies.

What is the team composition? There was a project manager, two or three developers, and one team lead.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? The team is professional and extremely qualified. They did very good work as their development team is excellent. We were pleased with them, but we decided to create an in-house team.

How did UFO Engineering perform from a project management standpoint? They have very good project management. Communication was over Slack, Skype, and phone. We also had regular standup meetings to discuss any difficult questions or decisions.

What did you find most impressive about them? Their team lead has a very good analytic system. He understands business tasks and can convert them into a development task.

Are there any areas they could improve? They don’t always understand my tasks correctly. I have had to clarify some responsibilities. They can improve this through experience and time.

Please describe your company and your position there. I am a founder of a startup - a platform for psychologists and their patients.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire UFO Engineering, and what were your goals? My platform helps psychologists and their patients to streamline the whole process, to match appropriate specialists to appropriate patients, manage payment process and provides necessary communication tools for psychology sessions. UFO Engineering team helped me to build this.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used. Laravel, Vue, Mysql, Nginx, WebTRC, Video conferencing technologies were used for the project. Steps were:

  • define the technologies, define the process of psychologists and patient matching, interaction and appointing times. Provide estimation for the project
  • Build the architecture for the project
  • Implement admin panel based on purchased theme
  • Implement the design which we provided for the landing page
  • Develop process of psychologists and patient matching, interaction and time appointments.
  • Develop video call functionality for psychology sessions

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions? Team consisted of 6 people:

  • Account manager
  • project manager
  • CTO
  • front end developer
  • 2 back end developers.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables? We’ve just started, UFO Engineering helped me to build this project, all according to expected results. Now we may be able to help more people and more effectively, right now this is very important especially due to recent events which are happening in Ukraine.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness. All the management we’re done on the end of UFO Engineering team, I only communicated with account manager, project manager and CTO, we had 3 meeting in private, rest of communication was in Google Meet and telegram.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company? They were very communicative, I had a feeling that they put themselves in my position to propose a great solution. Plus, the final result was according to my expectations that they help to form.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently? The team was great, I am fully satisfied with the result. If I had to suggest something, maybe I wished that the app was released faster but I understand that some technical tasks need time to be developed and tested properly, but I would not call that a disadvantage, more important is that the team is supposed to be on expected schedule.
